Not just one person invented the internet, but instead groups of scientists and engineers put there research together to create it and the internet's "birthday'' is considered to be January 1, 1983. Bob Khan and Vint Cerf were American computer scientists who first founded the set of protocols that allow for data to move through a network. This helped with the evolvement into the internet that we use everyday. Its first uses were mainly to share information, and more specifically for government researchers to do so. For example, the government did not want another surprise, like the launch of Sputnik 1. They wanted to be able to share information more effectively. The first version of the internet we know was called the ARPANET (Advanced Research Projects Agency Network) and now became the internet that we use to access answers to any questions, communicate around the world, and continue to share information across many platforms.
Tim Berners Lee is the creator of the World Wide Web and he developed Html, HTTP, and URLs. By definition the World Wide Web is an information system on the internet which allows documents to be connected to other document by hypertext links. This allows users the search and find information between multiple documents. The information searched on WWW can be found through images, text and video. Created in 1989, The World Wide Web was also for information sharing but mainly for scientists and universities around the world. Today, the WWW is mostly used for communication through social networks and blogs, as well as a way to share information, similar to the internet.
The internet and the World Wide Web are two different things but they do work simultaneously. the Internet acts as the background and the computer networks, while the web is what users see, like pages on their device. Sometimes the internet works without the web to send emails, but the web works on the internet. Without the internet, no one could communicate and no data would be transported. Without the web, it would be extremely difficult to access the information shared.
On August 6, 1991 the first website was launched called info.cern.ch. It was directions and instructions on how to use the World Wide Web. It was also created by Time Berners lee and taught users how to create web pages. The website still exists today and can be found with the same URL: http://info.cern.ch/. It still offers information about what the web is and how users can use it.
Hedy Lamarr was an actress and inventor born in 1914, who eventually invented the technology that would later form the basis and Bluetooth and Wi-Fi. Her brilliance was often ignored because of her career on the big screen but she was later added to the National Inventors Hall of Fame in 2014, 14 years after her death. Hedy Lamarr was also dubbed "The mother of Wi-Fi" and had a song written about her. Jeff Black and Johnny Depp created a song called "This is a Song for Miss Hedy Lamarr".

Jaap Haartsen is the inventor of Bluetooth after he found a way to connect devices at short range without the use of wires or cables. Most people believe Bluetooth is some sort of acronym but it really dates back to King Harald "Bluetooth: Gromsson who was known for uniting Denmark and Norway. The name was chosen for the technology because it related to connecting and uniting two things. The symbol for Bluetooth is the King's initials, Hagal(ᚼ) and Bjarkan(ᛒ).
Naming one inventor for Wi-Fi would be difficult, but Vic Hayes has been dubbed the father of Wi-Fi because he established the standards that would make Wi-Fi attainable in 1997. Originally, Wi-Fi was named WaveLAN, which also named the first wireless products. In August 1999, WaveLAN was renamed Wi-Fi for its catchy sound and it was similar to Hi-Fi which stood for High Fidelity.
