To live is to change. I created this art piece of two butterflies based on how I visualize myself in 20 years. In order to do so, I used adobe illustrator to convert my original sketch into a calligram. I used words from a letter I have written to my future self 20 years from now to create these two insects and adjusted the fonts as well as the text color. My inspiration came from the natural phenomena, metamorphosis, which is the process of a caterpillar turning into a butterfly. This process has always intrigued me and my letter was based of the personal growth I strive to achieve in the next 20 years. Changing is a natural part of life, and although often disliked, it is one of the best experiences people can undergo.       I focus on embracing change in my work, as no one butterfly is alone, similar to humans. The two butterflies, seemingly different, represent the idea that I am not alone when I change, but instead I am surrounding by people who change endlessly. I was inspired by

I think the tool bar is the most useful section of illustrator that I will use, especially the black an white selection tools. I found the shortcuts in the video useful for each tool, so now I know the selection tool is shortcut V and the direct selection tool is shortcut A. I also found out that holding alt while dragging n object will duplicate it, which I may find helpful in the future. The pathfinder panel also seemed helpful to combine or separate shapes and the overall explanations of the properties section helped me understand what each selection did and hot it was used. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3NBKRywEbNs In this tutorial , the magic wand too was introduced, used for selecting things with similar properties. I believe this tool will be one I use a lot throughout my projects and I think it will be simple to do so. The flare tool was very interesting and also looked complicated to use. I'm not sure the purpose of what it creates, since it looks like planets, but I won

Not just one person invented the internet, but instead groups of scientists and engineers put there research together to create it and the internet's "birthday'' is considered to be January 1, 1983. Bob Khan and Vint Cerf were American computer scientists who first founded the set of protocols that allow for data to move through a network. This helped with the evolvement into the internet that we use everyday. Its first uses were mainly to share information, and more specifically for government researchers to do so. For example, the government did not want another surprise, like the launch of Sputnik 1. They wanted to be able to share information more effectively. The first version of the internet we know was called the ARPANET (Advanced Research Projects Agency Network) and now became the internet that we use to access answers to any questions, communicate around the world, and continue to share information across many platforms.      Tim Berners Lee is the c

My name is Carly Bedford and I'm from Oakdale, New York which is a small town on Long Island. I love my hometown because there are endless things to do like go kayaking, meet up with friends, go out to eat, and explore boutiques while shopping. The beach is also nearby, so when I'm not spending all my money, I enjoy a day in the sun with my friends. I am very passionate about my friendships and try to balance them equally with my life responsibilities. I am also passionate about my schoolwork, and I always find myself putting in 100% effort into everything I do.      At home, I work as a Lifeguard in the summer and successfully passed my CPR and First AID certifications. I love working as a lifeguard because I get to interact with children all day long and soak up the sun while doing so. Throughout the rest of the year, I babysit my younger cousins and I enjoy going on walks and exercising. I have accomplished many successes in my life so far, such as maintaining a 4.0 gpa
